Writing Center

The GSW Writing Center provides a positive and supportive environment for a diverse population of writers and scholars to become better, more effective writers. Addressing concerns from meeting assignment criteria to developing and organizing content and more, peer consultants work with you to shape your ideas.

A consultation can be in-person in the Writing Center in Collum 102 or through the Writing Center's web platform. Appointments generally last thirty minutes to an hour. Walk-ins are welcome.

Appointments

The Writing Center takes walk-ins and appointments. If you are a walk-in, we will ask you to complete the appointment form when you come in. If you'd like to do so in advance, please complete the following steps to create an WCOnline Account and make an appointment:

From the Writing Center's webpage, click on the blue "make an appointment" link near the top right.
On the WCOnline homepage, click "register for an account." (Note that your WCOnline account is separate from your GSW radar email.) You will need to use a GSW email for the registration to go through.
Fill out the form. Red asterisks indicate required information.
Once you have been registered, log in with your email and the password you created. This takes you to the schedule.

Once You Have a WCOnline Account:

Return to the WCOnline homepage. (You can click on the blue "make an appointment" link near the top right of the Writing Center's webpage.)
Select a time slot to make an appointment. White spaces are the available times. Click on the white space that corresponds to the time you want.
Fill out the form. For most consultants, you can choose whether to meet in person or online. Make sure you remember which you chose.
Click "create appointment."
For in person appointments, come to Collum 102 for your appointment on time. Bring your rubric or assignment sheet if you have one.
For online appointments, return to where you made the appointment, click the box, and click "Start or join online consultation."
