Anish Dave

Anish Dave

Writing Center Director
Dr. Anish Dave is an Associate Professor of English and teaches in the professional writing program. He has a Ph.D. in rhetoric and professional communication from Iowa State University and an MFA in creative writing (fiction) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also has an MBA in marketing from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India. Dr. Dave has a total teaching experience of 18 years and industry experience of 12 years. His research is published in journals such as Research in the Teaching of English and Technical Communication Quarterly. He has peer-reviewed articles for journals in the field of rhetoric, composition, and professional communication such as Technical Communication QuarterlyJournal of Technical Writing and CommunicationResearch in the Teaching of English, and College Composition and Communication. He took over as the Director of GSW's Writing Center in fall 2019.
Alexander Bailey

Alexander Bailey

Consultant, Political Science Graduate
Alexander Bailey is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University, majoring in Political Science with a certificate specializing in Criminal Justice. During his time there, he was a first place recipient of GSW’s Dolores Capitan Award for excellence in academic writing. Currently, Alexander divides his time between Americus and the Gulf Coast. He has been a part of the Writing Center since 2019.

Lola Carr

Consultant, English Graduate

Lola Carr graduated from GSW with an English major and Psychology minor. She likes to play music, read, and travel to new places. Lola enjoys writing because it is a method of expression that everyone can understand and do. In the writing center, she wants to learn new writing strategies and share them with others.

Talik Hill is a Junior English major who also works for the school's newspaper called Sou'Wester. On his free time, he enjoys writing poetry, photography, watching movies and hanging out with friends. While he is a fairly new writing consultant, he is confident he would be able to help others with his familiarity with the writing process.

Tylah Kalukango

Consultant, Education Major

Tylah Kalukango is a Junior Education Major set to graduate in Spring 2024. Her degree focuses on Middle Grades English Language Arts and Mathematics, and she plans to pursue a Masters degree as well. Tylah is an active member of the International Honor Society in Education: Kappa Delta Pi, and works on campus as a Desk Assistant and Writing Consultant. This year, she was awarded the Mary G. Dupree scholarship, and has made the Dean’s List every semester from Spring 2021 through Summer 2022. When not in class, Tylah enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering. Tylah is extremely excited about helping students work through the writing process at the GSW Writing Center.
