Angela Smith joined GSW in 2015 as Executive Assistant to the President and in 2018 was promoted to Alumni Engagement Specialist under University Advancement, directing the work of the Office of Alumni Affairs and coordinating meaningful experiences and opportunities for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater. Angela serves as GSW’s representative on Americus Main Street and currently serves as the chair of its board of directors. Prior to her move to the university, Angela served as President of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from Valdosta State University. Angela is dedicated to serving as a liaison between GSW alumni, the GSW Alumni Association, and the university. She works closely with the Association to help unite and encourage alumni loyalty, support, and involvement in Georgia Southwestern State University.
