The Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communication and Emerging Media degree offers students a variety of courses in traditional and digital communications. Students will have access to state-of-the-art technology with a newly built media lab and various equipment for experiential learning and career readiness opportunities. Classes in this program will include Media Studies, Intercultural Communication, Digital Media, Video Production, Sports Communications and more. The program will allow considerable flexibility in selecting courses by offering electives in various departments such as business, information technology and nursing in order to fit the needs and goals of each student.

Students pursuing the BA in Communication and Emerging Media have six pathways with 5 communication specific options for concentrations that help fit the diverse needs and career goals of a variety of fields.
From the use of social media to writing print and video advertisements, local businesses have a growing need for employees that are versed in a wide range of communication skills. With a degree in Communication and Emerging Media, students will be prepared for a variety of career opportunities that use the skills learned while at Georgia Southwestern.
Students are also offered a variety of on and off-campus internships to gain additional hands-on experience during their studies. Opportunities include working with GSW's Department of University Relations, GSW Drop (student marketing team), and local businesses. Graduates will also leave with a portfolio of projects and creatives to use when applying to jobs.
