Why did you choose to attend GSW?
GSW was not my original choice since my older sister graduated from here, and I wanted to make my own path. However, after visiting during Preview Day, I fell in love with the welcoming atmosphere and tight-knit community. I chose GSW because here, I am not just a number to my professors—I am a name and a person they truly care about.

Why did you choose your major, or what do you love about your major program at GSW?
Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to care for others and make a difference. Over time, I discovered my passion for working with animals and chose to pursue the pre-vet track through the biology program at GSW. This program has given me a strong foundation in the sciences and valuable hands-on experiences, such as my herpetology internship, that are preparing me for veterinary school. What I love most is how supportive the professors are—they truly care about our success and, through their tough love, provide the encouragement and guidance we need to grow and reach our future goals.

What makes GSW special?
GSW is the most special place on earth—from Hello Walk and the smiling faces to the dorms that feel like home. Here, you are not just a number; you are a name that even Dr. Johnston, our president, knows. The faculty and staff truly want you to succeed and grow as a leader. GSW is more than a university—it is a family, and it is a place everyone wants to stay.

What's your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the third floor of the Storm Dome. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the smiling faces of the student desk workers and the music that instantly lifts your mood. Beyond that, the faculty on this floor are always encouraging and welcoming, with an open chair in their office for any student who needs to sit down and talk, or to have someone remind them to focus and study.

Tell us more about something you're involved with on campus.
I am involved on campus with Canes Leading Canes as a Senior Residential Leader in Oaks, the freshman dorms. As the SRL of Oaks, I work closely with our incredible team of RLs and freshman residents to help them feel at home and experience GSW as "More Than A Place to Live."

What is your favorite memory or experience you've had at GSW?
My favorite experience at GSW was with the President Jimmy Carter Leadership Program and traveling to Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida. It was life-changing to see so many children and families happy, regardless of their diagnoses, and it reminded me how small my own challenges can be in comparison. Experiencing this with people who feel like family and creating bonds and memories that will last a lifetime made it truly unforgettable.

Who is your favorite professor or staff member and why?
My favorite staff member at GSW is Christa Faison, also known as Momma Christa, and her nickname fits her perfectly. She is always there for her students, no matter the time of day or night, treating each of us as if we were her own children. While she is loving and caring, she also motivates you to be your best, to stay true to yourself, and to stay on track with your goals.

What advice do you have for incoming students?
My advice for incoming students is to step out of your comfort zone and get involved. You never know what experiences or connections you might make that can help you throughout your college career and beyond.

If you could travel anywhere (real or fictional), where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere, it would be the fictional Basgiath War College from Fourth Wing. I'd like to think I'd be brave enough to cross the Parapet and make it into the Riders Quadrant, eventually bonding with my own dragon. It would be incredible to bond with a dragon who's loyal to you and protects you no matter what.
