Why did you choose to attend GSW?
I chose to attend GSW because my grandparents came to this school, and I had a lot of friends and family that attended school here. GSW also has a fantastic music program, and I knew that if I were to go here, it would help me to further my education in my field of study.

  • Storm Spotter, 2 years
  • National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS), 2 years
  • Orientation Team, 2 years
  • Campus Activities Board (CAB), 2 years
  • 2018-19 Miss GSW

What is a cause you’re passionate about?
I would say a cause that I am most passionate about is cancer awareness and prevention. Cancer is a disease that has impacted my family the most. Breast cancer runs in my family, and my grandfather at the moment is fighting Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the blood). I have always been passionate about bringing awareness to different cancers and how to help prevent them.

What is your plan after graduation?
My plan after I graduate is to go onto Georgia College and get my certificate and masters in Music Therapy. I want to use my degree to help people and make a difference in people's lives. My goal after I get my masters is to work with either the pediatric cancer units in hospitals, wounded veterans, or children and adults with autism.

Why did you choose your major?
I chose to be a music major because music has always been a big and important part of my life. It has helped me through the worst and the best times in my life, and it is the most important and integral part of human beings. I couldn't see myself going to school for anything else. It wasn't until my sophomore year that I realized that I wanted to help people through music and so I added a psychology minor in order to reach that goal.

What have you learned from other GSW students?
I would say one of the biggest things I have learned from the wide array of students at GSW is how to find my voice. My closest friend and people I would not have met had I not come to GSW taught me how to speak up for myself and for others and how to speak up for what I truly believed in. Because GSW has so many students from different backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, and many other things, I have learned that to truly make a difference in my community and the lives of the people around me, it is important to speak up for the people who can't and to speak up for myself.

What advice do you have to incoming students?
The advice I have for incoming students would be to slow down. Enjoy the time you have here at GSW. It goes by a lot faster than you think it will. Enjoy every moment, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Because these will be the moments you carry with you throughout your adult life. Don't be discouraged by mistakes, and don't be afraid to try something new. Enjoy the little things, take in as much as you can. So when you finally graduate you have no regrets and no what-ifs.

What is your favorite series to binge watch?
I would say Criminal Minds would be my all-time favorite and go to series. I love the psychology and the story lines behind the show, and growing up my mother was in school for forensics, so I have always been around those types of crime shows, I love them.
