GSW’s fourth annual Day of Giving was Thursday, September 22, 2022. This 24-hour fundraising campaign is an opportunity for Hurricanes around the world—alumni, community members, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students—to join together and show support for Georgia Southwestern State University. This year’s efforts continue to focus on freshman scholarships, in particular the Southwestern Promise Scholarship, and we have raised the bar even higher by doubling our goal to $100,000! Additionally, we have challenged donors from each of the 50 states (and beyond) to light up their state and Turn the Map Gold!
For 2022, GSW will focus on fundraising for Southwestern Promise Scholarships, which offer $1,000 and $3,000 scholarships for all eligible GSW freshmen who meet certain academic requirements.
We challenge Hurricanes and GSW supporters across the nation to come together to help students’ lives. Each gold state below received contributions during last year’s event and this year we hope to #TurnTheMapGold and light up all 50 states!

This year, we received donations from 45 of 50 states. We appreciate all previous donations and hope to keep this momentum going with our Propel Scholarship Campaign. Thank you for your gifts that continue to impact the lives of Georgia Southwestern students as they prepare to Take Tomorrow By Storm.

Anyone! It is our goal to engage students, alumni, parents, and friends all over the world. Engagement is the key. The more participants, the faster we reach our goals and the more we earn for scholarships.
