GSW Day of Giving

Home / Day of Giving

GSW’s eighth annual Day of Giving will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026. This 24-hour fundraising campaign will bring Hurricanes around the world—alumni, community members, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students—together to support Georgia Southwestern State University.

As part of GSW’s Rising Together, Shaping Futures campaign, every gift made on Day of Giving will count toward the campaign goal while supporting the annual fund, scholarships and student programs. Together, these investments will strengthen opportunities for current and future Hurricanes.

This year, GSW will raise the bar once again with a goal of 700 donors. Supporters from all 50 states (and beyond) will also be challenged to light up their state and Turn the Map Gold!

My wife and I were fortunate to receive scholarships at GSW that helped lighten the financial load and allowed us to focus more on our studies and campus life. That’s why we choose to support the Day of Giving; it’s our way of “paying it forward” so today’s students can have the same kinds of opportunities we did.

GSW, this jewel of our region, has been transforming lives and developing leaders for over 100 years and it’s not done yet! Today we see a vibrant and enduring center of excellence that is impacting our community and our world. We are proud to play some small part in this effort through the annual Day of Giving.
