The award for Staff Excellence in Achievement and Performance recognizes staff for their contributions to the essential work of Georgia Southwestern State University at the highest level.

Successful recipients will exceed expectations by performing work that is above and beyond the duties normally assigned to their position. They will have made significant contributions to and impacts within their department and across the University. This individual will exude exemplary dedication and outstanding commitment to and support of the University. At the time of nomination, individuals must have at least one year of service at GSW.

Examples may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• High degree of professionalism
• Demonstrates initiative
• Extensive knowledge and competence in a wide array of work-related topics
• Uses knowledge and expertise to help solve problems
• Completes duties with little to no supervision
• Strong communicator

Nominations will be reviewed by the Staff Senate.
