The annual award for Faculty Excellence in Scholarship is provided to a member of the Georgia Southwestern State University faculty that exhibits an established or increasing record of outstanding research, scholarship, and/or creative contributions in their field. 

At the time of nomination, individuals must have at least two years of service at Georgia Southwestern. 

The award will recognize the following:

• Quality and contributions of faculty research
• Scholarship
• Creative activity undertaken while a faculty member at Georgia Southwestern across the broad spectrum of disciplines

Nominations will be reviewed by the Faculty Affairs Committee.
