Become an Advocate

GSW’s Day of Giving is coming up on September 18, 2025 and we need your help! Learn how to become an advocate, set up matches and challenges, and spread the word to make this our most successful Day of Giving yet.

When you become an advocate, you are helping spread the word about GSW’s Day of Giving. The features on our giving platform make it easy, fun, and rewarding. You can help other donors’ gifts go further, add your own story to the campaign, and even track how many clicks, gifts, and dollars your outreach is driving in real time.

Create an Account

Visit gsw.edu/GiveCampus and click "Log In" at the top right. Follow the steps to create your account. You are now an advocate!

Share Your Campaign Link

Once you are logged in, use the built-in sharing buttons to generate a campaign link that is unique to you. This link will track the number of clicks, gifts, and dollars generated by your outreach on the leaderboard.

Share on social media to reach friends' feeds with news about the campaign, and share over text and email to make direct, can't-ignore, peer-to-peer asks. Share early and share often to help spread the word!

Matches and Challenges

Matches and Challenges give you a personal, persuasive way to leverage your own giving and inspire others to join you in supporting GSW.

  • A Match generates matching funds right away as the dollars or donors come in.
  • A Challenge unlocks additional funds ONLY if a certain threshold is reached.
How to Set Up Your Challenge

You can challenge fellow donors by offering to contribute a gift of “X” if “Y” number of donors also contribute. Or you can offer a gift of “X” if donations reach a total number of “Y” dollars.

For Example:

Charles Wheatley will give $5,000 if 50 donors give.
Beth King will give $5,000 if $2,500 is donated.

Additional specifications may also be added, such as the fund donors should contribute to or the type of donor. These customizations can help target your efforts towards a specific cause or audience.

For Example:

Charles Wheatley will give $5,000 if 50 donors give to Southwestern Promise.
Beth King will give $5,000 if $2,500 is donated from the Classes of 2000-2010.

Please note that Challenges are all-or-nothing. Your gift will not be released unless the terms of your Challenge are met. In the meantime, your name will appear under the campaign total and on associated leaderboards but will have $0 associated until the threshold is met. Once your Challenge is completed and your gift is unlocked, your overall donation amount will be displayed. However, you can elect to give the entirety of your Match or Challenge gift even if the terms are not met.
