Looking for a fun, exciting, and impactful experience to make your transition into the Hurricane family smoother?
You found it! Thunder Camp is Georgia Southwestern's extended orientation program designed to assist incoming freshmen with their transition into college. Hosted August 1 - 3, 2022, this three-day, two-night experience establishes an opportunity for you to engage and connect with your peers, faculty, and campus leaders through entertaining activities that create bonds with your fellow Thunder Campers.
Thunder Camp provides a foundation for a successful college experience by immersing you in community-building, developing a greater sense of self-awareness, and building a connection to our GSW family. Within the away-camp setting, you will develop a greater sense of independence and school pride as you embark on new adventures with your fellow Canes.
Being a Thunder Camper provides an opportunity for you to blossom in new directions as you begin your journey here at GSW. Our new Canes will be mentored by Thunder Camp Counselors (TCCs) - GSW student leaders who are involved in campus life. These hand-selected counselors are well-trained and eager to help you find your place at GSW so you can thrive in your first year and beyond!
