Participating in the graduation ceremony is a celebratory event to acknowledge your achievement, however it is not an official indication of a completed degree. Individual reviews are completed for all degree candidates following the end of the final term. Degrees are awarded once the Office of the Registrar has verified the satisfaction of all degree requirements. This process is typically completed within two weeks of the final grade deadline. Graduates can confirm the awarding of their degree in RAIN or DegreeWorks.
Graduates will receive an electronic diploma through Parchment two to four weeks after the degree has been awarded, followed by an official paper diploma approximately six weeks after the end of their final term. All diplomas are mailed to the mailing address in RAIN. All electronic communication will be sent to the graduate’s Radar email. Diplomas are printed using the graduate’s name as listed in RAIN.
These initial diplomas are included in the graduation fee. Additional diplomas can be ordered through Parchment after the initial diploma is received. Please note that GSW is not responsible for costs associated with the reprinting or reshipment of diplomas related to outdated or inaccurate name or address information.
Graduates in need of official transcripts must submit a transcript order through Parchment. Transcripts are not included in the graduation fee. Graduates are encouraged to use the hold for degree option when ordering transcripts prior to their degree being awarded.
Professional photos from each graduation ceremony are provided at no cost, courtesy of Georgia Southwestern, and will be available within a few days after the event. Check your Radar email for the link to the online photo gallery. The gallery link will expire approximately four months after your graduation ceremony. Additional photos from the day will be shared on GSW's Facebook page.
