AMERICUS, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2016)—Georgia Southwestern State University and Interim President Charles Patterson will host the school’s 7th Annual President’s Classic Golf Tournament Friday, Oct. 21 at GSW’s Griffin Bell Golf Course in Americus.
The tournament format will be a 4-man scramble with a morning (8:30 a.m.) and afternoon (1:30 p.m.) tee time with lunch in between and will be divided into two separate flights. The cost is $300 per team or $75 for individual players. Individual players will be matched with a team. All proceeds will benefit the GSW Athletics Department.
“The President’s Classic Golf Tournament is an important fundraising event each year for GSW Athletics as it supports their efforts to compete in the Peach Belt Conference,” Patterson said. “Participation and funding from community members, business partners and alumni and good work from the planning committee make the tournament a success.”
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place team in each flight and winners of the “longest drive” and “closest to the pin” competition.
