Spring 2020 Move-Out Plan, Phase II

The University System of Georgia (USG) has instructed all USG universities to move to remote instruction with minimal physical presence on campus due to COVID-19. The GSW Residence Hall Spring 2020 Move-Out Phase II Plan is guided by the objectives to support CDC recommendations for social distancing for health safety and to provide reasonable options for students to move off campus.

  • Students are not permitted to return to campus without written permission from GSW. Every residential student is required to sign up for a designated move time. Confirmation of designed time will be sent to student’s GSW email account. The confirmation will articulate designated permission for return to campus.
  • Walk-ups without appointments will not be permitted. Adjustments to designated time can be made 24 hours in advance. No adjustments will be made the day of assigned time.
  • Maximum number of 3 students with 2 guests each will be permitted per building per session. The purpose is to minimize health risk and to expedite check-out procedures.
  • Students arriving less than one hour before the end of the designated time block will be rescheduled for another day and time.

Move-out Schedule Conflicts

Students not able to return to campus during the designated move-out days need to provide written request to housing@gsw.edu. Requests are limited to illness, self-quarantine, or other related extenuating circumstances. Alternative move-out dates will be permitted after April 8, 2020. Students will not be permitted to enter residence halls until request has been granted by GSW Residence Life in writing.
