GSW students named to summer 2026 honors lists

AMERICUS, Ga. (Sept. 30, 2026) — Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) recognizes 613 students who made the President’s List, Dean’s List, or Academic Achievement List for the 2026 summer semester. This distinction recognizes excellence in educational performance as demonstrated by an exemplary grade point average (GPA).

For summer 2026 semester, a total of 40 students made the President’s List, 48 students made the Dean’s List, and 525 students made the Academic Achievement list.

Academic honors are determined by the students’ GPA and the number of courses completed for the semester. Distinction is made between whether a student is full- (taking 12 or more credit hours) or part-time (less than 12 credit hours).

Honors criteria:

• President's List: A student who completes a course load of at least 12 semester hours of credit and earns a semester GPA of 4.00.
• Dean's List: A student who completes a course load of at least 12 semester hours of credit and earns a semester GPA of 3.50 through 3.99.
• Academic Achievement List: A student has previously earned at least 12 hours of credit at GSW, is enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of credit, and earns a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

For the purposes of Academic Honors, graduate course grades for undergraduate students taking graduate courses will not be counted in the GPA calculations. Both graduate and undergraduate credit hours will be counted for the purpose of establishing whether a student is full or part-time.
