Every employee and student at GSW has a CanesNet account. Your CanesNet account is a set of credentials used to authenticate to:
- Computers on campus
- Wireless networks
- Log in to your email

- Outlook Web App for employees
- Google Apps for students
- GeorgiaVIEW
- Beacon
- Canes Connect
Student accounts are created automatically the morning after the student becomes eligible to register for classes, disabled one year after leaving GSW, and deleted one year later. Employee accounts are created, disabled, and deleted based off of Personnel Action Notices from HR.
CanesNet accounts that are inactive for one year will be disabled. Accounts that are disabled for one year are deleted.
CanesNet account passwords must conform to the GSW Password Security Standard.

Change password - Use this link when you know your current password and need to change it.
Set or update security questions (Enroll in Password Reset) - Use this link to set up or change security questions. This process is also called “enrollment.” Students are automatically enrolled (but can still use this link to change their security questions), employees must enroll themselves. Enrolling in the Password Reset service does not change your password in any way.
Reset password - Use this link when you don’t know your password and wish to reset it. You must be enrolled (have security questions set up) in order to reset your password. GSW students are automatically enrolled after their CanesNet accounts are created.
