Why did you choose to attend GSW?
When looking for schools, I was focusing on finding places that were smaller and more community orientated. The second I stepped on GSW’s campus, I immediately got hit with that sense of community and knew it was the place for me. I wanted to become a part of the community that I thought so highly of as a high schooler looking for where I was going to further my education.

Are you currently receiving any GSW scholarships? If so, which one(s)?
Last year I received the Jay Cliett Kiwanis Scholarship, the Mattie Marshall Scholarship, the Sigma Chi Scholarship, and the Mix Foundation Scholarship.

Why did you choose your major, or what do you love about your major program at GSW?
I pretty much knew from the beginning of my college career that I wanted to do something related to healthcare. I love to help people and do my part in making change, and I knew the healthcare field would give me that opportunity. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to go into the career path of occupational therapy, and the exercise science major here at GSW was perfect for getting me ready for that field. Going through this program at GSW has taught me so much about my future career and done an amazing job with preparing me for my future endeavors in graduate school. The professors that I have had truly care about us as students. They want us to succeed and achieve all of our goals. The invaluable guidance and support I have received from everyone in our department is truly something special.

What makes GSW special?
To me, the heart of GSW lies in its incredible sense of community. I’ve never experienced a more tight-knit, engaged, and supportive environment within a school. The fact that I can form meaningful connections with so many people—students, faculty, and staff alike—speaks volumes about the values GSW upholds. It’s more than just a campus; it’s a family, a place where everyone lifts each other up and where lifelong friendships are forged.

What is your plan after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to dive deeper into my passion by enrolling in graduate school for occupational therapy—ideally at Augusta University. Once I've earned my OT degree, my goal is to return to Cairo and be an OT at our hometown hospital, making a lasting impact on the community that raised me.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Intramural Gym. Not only is it one of the places I work, but it's also where I get to unwind with a game of basketball. Even though I’m not what some might call a "baller," I genuinely enjoy being able to go out and play around with those that have my same interests.

What has been your greatest challenge?
From the moment I set foot on campus, time management has been my toughest challenge. While I've gradually honed my skills as I've advanced through college, fitting every involvement and responsibility into my day remains a constant juggling act. Despite the struggle, each challenge has taught me valuable lessons about prioritizing, adapting, and growing under pressure.

What is your favorite memory or experience at GSW?
One of my most memorable experiences at GSW was winning the 2024-2025 Mr. GSW title this past fall. Spending an entire week on the campaign trail allowed me to connect with my fellow students on a deeper level and share my vision for a more engaged campus. I loved every moment of spreading my message of involvement and unity, and that experience truly encapsulated the spirit of GSW for me.

If you had a time machine, when/where would you travel?
If I could hop into a time machine, I'd choose January 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. My mission? To give the 2018 Georgia Bulldogs a strategic tip: Alabama was planning a halftime quarterback switch. With that warning, the Dawgs might have been able to turn the game in their favor.
