Business Management

Hometown: Ellaville, Georgia

Major: Senior Business Management major

Graduating: December 2022

Why did you choose to attend GSW?
I chose to attend GSW because it was close to home. Since it is close to my hometown, commuting to GSW allowed me to keep my full-time job with the flexible schedule options offered by the College of Business and Computing.

Please list your University highlights, achievements, leadership and awards.

Why did you choose your major?
I chose my major and the Entrepreneurship certificate to further my understanding of how a business operates. One day, I hope to work for myself. Until that time comes, between my education and work experience, I will have learned the ins and outs of business management.

Who is your favorite professor or staff member and why?
My favorite professors are Dr. Robert Bennett and Dr. John Stovall. Both of these professors seemed to have the edge when it came to teaching. They had personal stories to share that really helped understanding concepts. They also would give advice that would give another perspective on a subject. They both were really awesome!

What has been your greatest challenge?
My greatest challenge was the homework loads. When I was in high school, I rarely had homework. Once I got into college, I had to fit homework in my schedule.

What is your plan after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to use the skills I learned to expand our family-owned business, Central Automotive in Ellaville. I would like to start outside sales and drive revenue higher. After that, one day, I would like to venture out and work for myself.

What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class is a tie between Dr. Bennett's Strategic Management and Dr. Stovall's Marketing Management. Both of these classes really gave me perspectives on business strategies that are being executed on a daily basis.

If you had a time machine, when/where would you travel? Why?
If I had a time machine, I would travel 10-20 years into the future. I would see what inventions come out and have success and come back and invent them!
