GSW Faculty attend Institute for Curriculum and Campus Internationalization (ICCI)
In late May, 2016, GSW professors Brian Parkinson, Philip Szmedra, and Tonia Hughes attended the sixth annual Institute for Curriculum and Campus Internationalization (ICCI) at Indiana University Bloomington’s School of Global and International Studies. ICCI is for administrators and faculty from around the world to learn how to internationalize colleges and universities from leading experts in the field. GSW’s faculty were funded through the William B. King Endowment whose purpose is to support faculty members to strengthen their teaching skills through an out of state experience with instructors or colleagues from different regions or cultures.
Pace presents at Foundations in Family Literary Festival
Kay Pace, lecturer of English, presented at the Foundations in Family Literary Festival at Darton State College, Albany, Georgia on April 16, 2016. The title of the presentation was “Legacies as Text: Writing our Families.” The 20-minute session discussed the significance of memories for both previous and successive generations in families and the various literary genres in which these memories might be preserved. The presentation was followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience.
