Bragg participates in Biennial Congress
With the support of a GSW faculty development grant, Susan Bragg (Associate Professor, History) participated in the Biennial Congress of the International Research Society for Children’s Literature at York University in Toronto in late July 2017. Bragg read a paper on NAACP politics of youth activism, focusing on readers’ theaters as an organizing tool that supported young women’s explorations of leadership. This was a great experience to meet scholars from around the world working in interdisciplinary children’s studies.

Easom provides key findings in recent publication
RCI Executive Director Dr. Leisa Easom and Director of the RCI Training Center for Excellence Gayle Alston provided key findings in a recently released publication titled ‘External Validity of the New York University Caregiver Intervention: Key Caregiver Outcomes Across Multiple Demonstration Projects.’ The Administration on Aging funded six New York University Caregiver Intervention demonstration projects, a counseling/support intervention targeting dementia caregivers and families. Three sites (Georgia, Utah, Wisconsin) pooled data to inform external validity in nonresearch settings. This study assessed collective changes over time and compared outcomes across sites on caregiver burden, depressive symptoms, satisfaction with social support, family conflict, and quality of life.
