Congratulations on your acceptance to Georgia Southwestern! We look forward to assisting you succeed on your educational journey.

In order to jumpstart the registration process, we ask that you complete the following:

Additional Program Materials

Applicants are responsible for submitting additional application materials required for specific programs via the document submission portal. Make sure to check the program page for additional details. These items may include, but are not limited to program specific application for admission, entrance test scores, letters of recommendation, or any supplemental material required by the college or school.

You're Accepted. Now What?

Student Email

Your radar student email account is created after you have been accepted to Georgia Southwestern. These credentials are the most important as a GSW student. Setup your email in order to login to email, register for classes, access classes, and more.

Student Advisement

Your Graduate Program Director will advise and guide you through your graduate program. Contact your Graduate Program Director as soon as possible for advisement and information regarding registration.

Calendars

Check the Academic Calendar to verify registration deadlines and class start dates. Course rotation schedules can be found on each program webpage and should be used as guidance for scheduling future classes.

Register for Classes

Speak to the director of your program if you are unsure what classes to register for. Often, students are pre-registered for the first semester. Otherwise, follow the registration guidelines provided to use Student Self Service.

Student Accounts

Students will be able to access tuition statements, including current balances, and make payments through the Touchnet Payment Portal. Payment Plans are also available as needed.

Gather Course Materials

Visit the Campus Bookstore in the Marshall Student Center or onlineBest practice is to get the syllabus from your professor(s) to ensure you purchase the correct books and materials. You can also order GSW spirit gear along with your textbooks.

Terms to Know

Hurricanes have a variety of student resources and technology services to get prepared for classes. Make sure to familiarize yourself with each item listed below:

  • Radar Student Email: Georgia Southwestern creates an email account for every enrolled student which will serve as the official means of communication to students by faculty and staff. Your radar student email account is created after you have been accepted to Georgia Southwestern.
  • CanesNet Account: Every current student and employee at GSW has a CanesNet account, which is a set of credentials used to authenticate a variety of IT systems across campus. Your CanesNet credentials are your entire email address and your email address's password.
  • myGSW: Students can find all of the required student technology platforms at myGSW located at the top of the GSW webpage. You can bookmark this link fo easy access.
  • RAIN: The Registration and Academic Information Network allows students to view information such as holds on their account, semester grade reports, unofficial academic transcripts, account summary and fee assessments, financial aid status, registration status, and current schedule.
  • CanesCard: The CanesCard is the official identification card for Georgia Southwestern. This identification card demonstrates an individual’s right to use University facilities and attend various University events. View Canes Card details.
  • GeorgiaVIEW and GoVIEW: GeorgiaVIEW and GoVIEW are GSW's online learning environments. A GeorgiaVIEW/GoVIEW course site allows "anytime, anywhere" access to syllabi, readings, multi-media files, assignments, online quizzes, communication, grades, etc. Please verify that you are logging in to the correct system for online courses, as the login process is different for each. GeorgiaVIEW is for MBA/EMBA, MSCS, and Education programs. GoVIEW is for eMajor (MBA prerequisites) and MSN/FNP courses and requires separate login information.
  • Parking Permit: To obtain your parking permit you will need your driver's license and vehicle details. Permits may be purchased online or in person from the Office of Public Safety located in the Nicholas Smarr and Jody Smith Memorial Building. View More Details on Parking.
