Tuition Assistance Opportunities

TEACH Grant

The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants up to $4,000 a year to graduate students in the process of completing or planning to complete a degree or courses necessary to begin a career in teaching. Check with your school and desired program to make sure you meet the requirements

TAP

TAP is a supplemental educational assistance employee program offered through the University System of Georgia. An employee who is eligible for any type of grant, scholarship, or financial aid must apply their money toward tuition and fees before receiving a TAP waiver. Please contact your home institution's human resource office or TAP coordinator for more information.

Tuition Reimbursement

Tuition reimbursement is an employee benefit through which an employer pays for a pre-determined amount of continuing education credits or college coursework to be applied toward a degree. These programs are intended for employees looking to advance their education as it relates to their current career track, offering the chance to increase their industry knowledge and develop advanced skills. Check with your human resources office to see if your company participates in tuition reimbursement.

Tuition Waivers

Tuition waivers may be applicable for students who meet specific criteria and may be offered to Georgia residents over 62, active military members, and more. Please see our Tuition Waivers for more information.

Prior Learning Assessment

Our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process honors your past achievements by allowing you to showcase your acquired knowledge and skills. By providing appropriate documentation and aligning your experiences with specific course objectives, you have the opportunity to potentially earn academic credit.

Working full-time, I was looking for a local university, who offered online, affordable classes and was close enough to experience on-campus events. GSW checked all my requirements. I enjoy driving to campus and experiencing musicals, sporting events, and other student activities that GSW offers.

I want anyone who has ever failed in his or her life (and honestly, that's all of us at some point) to know it's never too late to rise up in the face of hard challenges and adversity. And you're never too old to dream and achieve.
