Why did you choose to attend GSW?
When I was looking for schools to play baseball at, GSW was my first option. When I came to visit, I fell in love with the school and the competitive environment here. GSW was the first school that was super serious about me. I had a lot of respect for that, so I have given my all to be everything this place thought I could be.
Please list your University highlights, achievements, leadership and awards.
Why did you choose your major, or what do you love about your major program at GSW?
I chose my major because it is what my dad does, and I look up to him as both a father and a businessman. After I got here, I fell in love with how much all of the professors in the College of Business and Computing care about the students and are willing to help them be successful. I would thank Dr. Robert Bennett and Dr. Mark Grimes for helping me a ton along the path of my degree and always being a phone call away, even when I was not in their class.
What makes GSW special?
GSW is special to me because they chose me by hand and believed in me from the beginning. The coaching staff and the town both made me feel welcome and showed a ton of respect to me at all times. I have only gotten more of that since I have been here.
What’s your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is our baseball locker room. I was here before it was completed. The new recruits see it and are amazed by it, but I saw all the work of the people that were here in my first year and how much it means to them that we have something as beautiful as that. It reminds me of the influential people I met during my time here every single time I walk through that door.
What is your favorite memory or experience you’ve had at GSW?
My favorite memory at GSW is when we won the Peach Belt Conference Championship. When I first got here, people did not think we could do it when they looked at us from the outside. But my teammates, who I consider my brothers, and I fought through all of the outside doubt and worked hard to accomplish things no one thought we could.
Who is your favorite professor or staff member and why?
I would say my favorite staff member is Coach Josh McDonald. He was the first coach that ever gave me a chance to accomplish my dreams of playing baseball, and he believed in me during my whole career that I was the guy he could count on to get a job done.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
My advice for incoming students is to enjoy every second you have here, because you will never forget the incredible time and the incredible people you meet throughout your journey at GSW. You will meet people here you will be friends with or mentors you will have for the rest of your life.
What is your favorite series to binge watch? Why?
Recently I have been binge watching the show "Survivor." I like this show because it has a lot of competitive challenges, and the people on there are interesting to say the least. My teammates and I watch it together, and it is a fun ritual we have to play well.
What is your favorite album? Why?
My favorite album is "Leather (Deluxe Edition)" by Cody Johnson. I have been listening to Cody Johnson for a long time, and he has become my favorite artist. He also is a guy with really good morals and reputation.
What is your favorite vacation spot or a memorable trip you’ve taken?
Last summer, I was given the opportunity to play summer baseball in Wausau, Wisconsin. It was the most memorable summer I have ever had because I got to play baseball in front of thousands of people every day. It felt like I was a pro for a whole summer, and it was an experience I will never forget. The town was very accepting of me and took me in like one of their own.
